Careers
Thank you for your interest in a career with Pink Flamingo Landscaping.
What we do:
Our company provides Boutique level residential landscape maintenance and installations for small to medium homes in and around San Diego. We are the company people hire when they want it done correctly the first time, on time and on budget by uniformed, insured, trained, drug tested and background checked employees. All of our people speak English and can communicate intelligently with our clients.
Where we work:
We are currently heavily concentrated in the mid San Diego area. The vast majority of our service accounts are within 5 miles of Mission Valley.
Where we are going:
We are expanding. We gain on average one new account each and every week. We typically run 2 man crews and a separate quality control inspector / Supervisor. We intend to open branches of our company in North County San Diego as well as Temecula in 2010 and then begin an expansion in to Arizona in mid 2011.
In order to accomplish our goals, our company is seeking qualified and motivated team players who are looking not just for a job, but a career with potential growth within our organization.
What we look for in an employee:
We seek people who are motivated, energetic, problem solvers who work in a proactive versus reactive manner. We seek people who solve the issue before it becomes a problem. We employ people who understand the symbiotic relationship between the company and the employee and who actively seek to better themselves and increase their value to our team by gaining knowledge and experience on their own time as well as during working hours. We value people who understand the need for community involvement and participation as well as charitable contributions of their time and effort.
A good employee example:
The person who says I currently earn $10 per hour as a crew member, but want to earn more. I understand that if I improve my value to the company and produce better results then I earn the company more money and can expect a raise to reflect that relationship. I understand that if I take an outside class in a related field, read books on subjects that are related to my work and actively seek instruction, critique and input from my supervisors then I will be able to prove my greater earning ability to the company.
Examples of an undesirable employee for our company:
- I am working for the company because I make $10 an hour there and I only made $9 an hour before.
- I need to work long enough to qualify for unemployment.
- I am happy with $10 per hour and do not see a need to try and earn more. I can live on what I make.
- An employee who needs to be actively supervised / quality controlled on the common tasks after proper training because of lack of attention to detail.
After a successful probation period, our company is able to provide employees with access to our Kaiser Health plan for you and your family as well as paid vacation and sick pay.
We also provide you with a wonderful opportunity to either advance to the next level in your career or an opportunity to change careers and bring your expertise to our industry in a way that is profitable for you and the company. We are absolutely focused on providing you all of the opportunities within our power to absolutely excel and thrive, provided you are willing to do the work.
